God Theories exists to treat the biggest questions — God, faith, doubt, and meaning — with rigor and fairness. Most writing on these topics is trying to win you over. This isn't.
Every book in The Strongest Case series takes two worldviews and makes the most compelling case for each, exactly as that side's best advocate would argue it. THE AUTHOR
Bennett Kim
Bennett Kim is the creator of God Theories, a project devoted to the biggest questions about faith, doubt, and meaning, approached in a spirit of curiosity rather than combat. He is the author of the memoir 60% Christian, which traces his own effort to hold a belief honestly, at the level of confidence the evidence seems to warrant and no more.
He came to these questions from an unlikely direction. After a BA in economics from UCLA and an MBA from Harvard Business School, he spent a twenty-five-year career in real estate private equity, including at Apollo Real Estate Advisors (now part of Ares Management) and Oaktree Capital Management, and at Big Rock Partners, a firm he co-founded. It is a profession that lives or dies by weighing incomplete evidence, pricing uncertainty honestly, and not letting hope masquerade as analysis.
The Strongest Case grew out of that same discipline: the conviction that the questions worth asking are worth asking fairly, with each side given its full strength and the reader trusted to weigh them. The author writes as a referee rather than a competitor, for believers of every kind and for anyone who would rather examine a question than win an argument.
